The first training on using a 3D scanner at USUST

On December 27, 2024, the first training on the use of a 3D scanner for educational and professional activities was successfully held. The participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the basic principles of the equipment, its technical specifications, and to try performing a 3D scan of the lecture hall 328A, including the ramp extension.

The training was aimed to develop the skills of engineering and design professionals. This 3D scanning technology will be especially useful in real-world architecture, restoration, and industrial renovation projects.

The introduction of modern technologies like 3D scanning will contribute to the development of new fields within the construction industry.

The participants were satisfied with the experience, highlighting the high quality of the equipment and the professionalism of the instructors. In the near future, training on processing the obtained point cloud using licensed software is planned to continue.

Stay tuned for updates so you don’t miss the opportunity to join the next event, or contact Artem Sopilniak in room 303.

This training was conducted within the tasks of the CREATE project (development of the Center for Research in Engineering, Additive Technologies, and Materials) as part of the international project ‘The BRIDGE,’ under the Erasmus+ program ‘Capacity Building in Higher Education.
