Internship within the framework of the international project VETpartEx
From February 9 to 17, 2026, at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, in accordance with the implementation plan of the international project “VETpartEx – Future-Oriented Vocational Education for the Construction Sector of Ukraine” under the Erasmus + KA2 program, an internship on the topic “Building Standards of the European Union” was held, in which teachers of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology took part. The goal of the project is to improve vocational education in Ukraine, harmonize educational programs for the training of specialists in the construction industry with EU standards.
During the internship, the teachers took part in seminars and practical classes, which involved scientists and experts from the Slovak University of Technology, the Slovak Green Building Council and the Chamber of Civil Engineers.
The lectures were devoted to the following topical issues:
– EU policy and standardization in the field of construction;
– concepts of “green” construction, sustainable development and reconstruction;
– research and implementation of innovative energy-efficient building materials;
– Sustainable Construction Certification System;
– ensuring the quality of education in accordance with the requirements of the European labor market;
– training and accreditation of teachers of technical disciplines in accordance with EU education standards.
Specialists of the Chamber of Civil Engineers conducted a training on digital skills and technologies of construction information modeling (BIM-technologies). In the classes, colleagues shared their experience in implementing projects using modern methods of data collection, software complexes and design technologies, effective BIM management and communication between project participants.
European colleagues – teachers of the Industrial School of Civil Engineering and Geodesy – demonstrated examples of the organization of the educational process, a combination of theoretical and practical training, as well as the experience of implementing dual education due to the active cooperation of the educational institution with employers.
At the Slovak University of Technology , teachers learned about the peculiarities of educational programs, admission conditions, opportunities for participation in international programs and academic mobility of students. The university actively develops international partnerships, implements educational and scientific projects, academic mobility programs in the fields of materials science, construction and architecture.
The international internship contributed to the development of cooperation between universities, the acquisition of knowledge and experience necessary for the improvement of educational programs, the introduction of modern teaching methods and the best European practices, taking into account the requirements of employers in the training of specialists in the construction industry.
The experience gained will improve the quality of vocational education, contribute to better training of specialists capable of introducing innovations during the reconstruction and modernization of Ukraine in accordance with EU standards.
