Conducting an instrumental energy audit as part of the pre-diploma practice by a team of graduate students and masters of the Research Study Institute «Pridneprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture» and Research Study Institute «Ukrainian State University of Chemical and Technology»

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ UKRENERGY project №101082898, co-financed by the European Union: “Innovative Master’s Courses to Support the Improvement of the Energy and Carbon Footprint of the Building Stock of Ukraine”, a team of graduate students and masters of the Research Study Institute «Pridneprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture» and Research Study Institute «Ukrainian State University of Chemical and Technology» conducted an instrumental energy audit of a kindergarten building in Dnipro.

The main task was to assess the condition of the building envelope, identify deficiencies, and check the main microclimate parameters (CO2 level, temperature, humidity, and lighting). Modern equipment was used to conduct the survey: a thermal imager, a luxometer, a thermo-hygrometer, a device for measuring the coefficient of thermal conductivity of walls, etc.

The team successfully coped with the tasks and consolidated the acquired knowledge in practice. So we continue to work, inspect, research and train energy auditors, because many more facilities throughout Ukraine need and will need instrumental inspection and energy audit.
