Successful finish of the student marathon – defense of the bachelor’s comprehensive diploma!

On June 20, 2025, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology of ESI “Prydniprovsk State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture” hosted the defense of a pilot comprehensive diploma project of 4th-year students on the topic “Renovation of a residential building on ul. Vykonkomivska, 24a” within the framework of the international grant The BRIDGE of the Erasmus+ program “Bridging the gap between university and industry…”. This diploma was the result of many years of training and testing the readiness of young specialists for practical activities and participation in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

The diploma was completed using a Leica 3D scanner purchased at the expense of the European Horizon 2020 program during the implementation of scientific and technical projects under the leadership of Rector Kostyantyn Mykhailovych for the development of the CREATE laboratory of our university.

The Leica BLK 360 laser scanner was purchased from the official distributor of Leica equipment at the Navigation and Geodetic Center company.

Students and teachers of four departments of the ESI PSACEA participated in the project. The evaluation was carried out by a commission consisting of representatives of the city government, heads of specialized enterprises and teachers. They noted the high level of preparation, relevance of the topic, use of modern technologies, and students’ ability to present their solutions in a reasoned manner.

Representatives of the city executive committee Oleg Tupytsia, Artem Pavlov, Artem Nidelko and the rector of the university Kostyantyn Sukhyi, as well as the president of the Academy of Construction of Ukraine Ivan Nazarenko and vice-president Ivan Ivanovych Pereginets emphasized the importance of such projects that take into account innovations, energy efficiency, digitalization and environmental friendliness. The presentations were accompanied by video materials of 3D concepts of laser scanning and information modeling, combined with virtual reality renders.

The defense became the final stage of training and at the same time a fantastic start to career growth. The graduates were sincerely congratulated on the successful defense of their cutting-edge and powerful work!
